Pre Prep School - A day in the life...
Our day begins between 8:30 and 9:00 am with a soft start and drop-off time. We meet friends and receive a warm welcome from our incredible nursery staff at The Rectory, 22 Bargate. There's always someone to play with, a teacher on hand, and Miss Mills or Mr. Jackson available for a conversation. After registration at 8:55, we head to our classrooms to begin the day’s activities.
Following some initial purposeful play and exploration, we usually have our English lesson. We always practice our phonics through the Anima programme, engage in exciting writing activities, and read our books to our teachers. There’s always plenty to do! We are truly busy bees in Pre-Prep. Then it’s playtime: we get a healthy snack, enjoy it in class, then pop on our wellies to explore the outdoor areas and our wonderful grounds. Playing in the school garden is always great fun.
After playtime, we go back inside for our maths lesson. We love maths, especially when we play games on the interactive whiteboard and engage in practical investigations!
At lunchtime, we head to the school canteen, where our school catering team has prepared a delicious meal. After eating, it’s back out into The Rectory. Lunchtime play is filled with toys and exploration in the Rectory Gardens, so we never get bored.
In the afternoon, we participate in a variety of exciting activities, including Science, History, Geography, Art, P.E., and outdoor learning. Then it’s time for show and tell, packing our bags with homework, and getting ready for one of our many after-school clubs.
Throughout the day, each child's interests are nurtured, helping them realize their potential as they prepare for Reception at St Martin's Preparatory School.
Our teacher always encourages us to reach our full potential each and every day.
